Drawing of the Tyrannosaurus rex from the upcoming film Jurassic World Rebirth, created with Prismacolor Nupastels and Faber-Castell pastel pencils on 8 x 6in Canson black paper.
Overall, I like the design of the Tyrannosaurus. Aside from the changes in coloration, the general anatomy is very reminiscent of its predecessor in the original Jurassic Park film. Of course, that representation still includes a number of anatomical inaccuracies (the shape of the mouth, the pronated wrists, the lack of protofeathers, etc.), but it is such a beautiful and iconic design that I am excited to see it carried forward within the Jurassic World films.
I am further excited that we will finally see the famed T. rex river sequence from the novel by Michael Crichton portrayed on the big screen.
As for the upcoming film, all I can say is...
Please be good! Please be good! Please be good!
